All about ME!

We are starting our first full week of prek! Everyone did such a great job learning the rules and structures of our classroom last week so we started talking about this month's theme: school/all about me. It's so important for all children to have a positive self-image of themselves!
In our art center, the students explored mirrors and drew self-portraits.
J.A looks at the mirror and then draws what he sees.

J. M drawing her self-portrait.

G.A looks into the mirror and notices different parts of her face.

O.B contemplating what to draw next.

T.S looks into the mirror and makes a connection. He mentions the mirror he looks at when he's at home, except the mirror at home is attached to the wall.

Here is the beginning of our bulletin board with everyone's self-portraits.

In math, we started talking about shapes. Here, X.I is sorting circles and ovals.

In the science center, we looked for circles in nature. D.K found circles on the edge of a butterfly's wings.

For the rest of the week, we will continue to explore everything about ourselves including feelings. We will also learn about other shapes! Today, you will also find in your child's folders-a homework packet. Homework will be given out and collected every Monday. Let me know if there are any questions! :)
