Our first week of school

The first week of school is over and we're on our second! Sorry for not posting sooner--I'm still waiting for some media consent forms to come in, so I can only post a couple of photos. We started off our first two days working on learning the routines of the classroom and school. The class was eager, excited and full of energy!
This year, the students will be learning to read! On the very first day, look books were placed on their tables for access and exploration!
As I was going around the room, I heard a lot of talk and questioning occurring from the books. L.C commented about the ducks playing in the book she was looking at.

We have also been talking about how to properly use the materials in our classroom! One of the first materials we explored was crayons!
I.Z colors in the ocean. She wrote about a shark.
D.G wrote about a train
J. wrote about himself taking a slice of pizza. Here, he is drawing the pizza pie.
On Friday, Ms. Kim came in to do music with the students. Our class loves to sing and dance!
Singing and dancing to Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes
I can't wait to see everyone tomorrow as we start our first full week of school! Remember to check your child's folders for forms that need to be filled out :)
